Mail Fraud
Here are some key points:
- Keep the flag down: Avoid raising the mailbox flag to signal outgoing mail, as this can attract thieves.
- Secure your mailbox: Invest in a sturdy mailbox with a locking mechanism or add a locking insert to your existing mailbox.
- Regularly check your mailbox: Pick up your mail daily.
- When you’re on vacation, use the USPS “Hold Mail” service, which allows you to temporarily suspend mail delivery to your address for up to 30 days, letting your local post office hold your mail until you return.
- Hand-deliver your mail: Take your mail directly inside to the post office.

The protection of your accounts is our TOP priority. Due to recent changes in the world, the potential for increased online fraud is higher. Some reminders to help protect your account: Never share your passwords, security questions or PIN with anyone. Use a strong password and change it periodically. Valley Central Bank or our Fraud Department will never contact you for your PIN, passwords, or security codes/questions. We at Valley Central Bank suggest setting up account alerts to assist you in monitoring your accounts.
